Vertical garden, Green Wall, Living Wall, Garden up

You’ve got the potting soil, you’ve got the seeds, and maybe you've even got a few beautiful planters too…But what good are all those things without a space big enough to hold them?

Garden UP then! Sometimes you can grow“up” to maximize your gardening space.

You can grow pretty much anything in an indoor vertical garden that you could grow outside in a garden bed. If your plants have ample support, light, water, and nutrients, there is no reason they will not grow on a living wall.

Sempervivum species of flowering plants in the family of succulent plants. As its Latin name suggests – “always living “– those are the best to grow “up”. Check my Succulents - PHOTO GALLERY.

Almost all culinary herbs that will thrive in pots. So lavender, rosemary and sage will love a terracotta pot while thyme, oregano, marjoram, chives, garlic chives will love a window box, cramped together in free draining soil, pointed toward the sun.

Basil is best thought of as an annual herb or as an indoor kitchen-sill plant for homemade pesto; coriander can be grown inside or outside. Dill, which so easily reseeds itself, is treated like an annual. Mint will fill out any sized pot but be careful is a bit invasive, so keep your MOJITO supply separate from other plants!
